Option Results for Jan10

All of the options that I still held at expiration expired worthless except for DSX.  I rolled out 7 options that might have resulted in stock being called away from me which I still wanted to retain for one reason or another.  Those that I rolled out are shown as BTC (Bought to Close) in the Result column.  The expired and assigned options listed below represent a total of $8,636.64 in option premiums, some of which may were rolled out from prior months.   Here are the summarized results:

January 10 Option Results

I include those options that I rolled out during the month to present a more complete picture of the option transactions that I originally sold for expiration this month.

The BTC transactions occurred on various days during the month.  In turn, I sold new Covered Calls for each of them.  I have already made individual posts for each of them.

I would have liked to have rolled out and up the Calls on AMZN but they were so far in the money that I had nowhere to go with them for a net credit transaction.  I could have just rolled them out to at the same strike but decided that I could do better with other stock.   My basis was 55.18 so I made almost $10 per share on the assignment.

I did not want the NLY shares called away but, as I wrote earlier, I was caught napping.  They were called away on the ex-dividend date.  I should have already rolled them out.  My basis was 11.41 so I made about $6 per share on the assignment.  I bought the shares back at 17.80 and sold new Covered Calls on them as I wrote about in an earlier post.

I have already sold new Covered Calls on many of those that expired.  I will write about them in the next few days.
