A week ago I was going to write about some options that I had rolled out on Aug09 expiration Friday.  However, the PC god had a different plan.  I have been struggling with even being able to reliably start my computer.  I have made a number of adjustments and fixes as recommended by the various tools available to me.  I now seem to be able to get the computer started at will but, strangely, I cannot get windows to shut the computer down.  I resort to holding the power button until it shuts down.  I think I will eventually need to scratch my hard drive and reinstall everything.  I think I’ve had this computer about 5 years so reinstalling will probably be a good thing anyway.
