I keep writing about collecting dividends along with option premiums as part of my basic investment philosophy. I thought I should begin to write about the dividends a little, if nothing more than to report them. They do happen on a regular basis and add to my annual investment income. So with that…
Today, I received dividends in the amount of $100.00 in an IRA account from 200 shares of NLY. The is .50 per share and represents about a 13.2% annualized return at the current stock price of about $15. My basis for these NLY shares is currently 10.23 so the annualized return on my basis is actually more than the 13.2%.
I really like NLY. I found out about it through your site. Thanks, Dave, The Premium Collector
You are most welcome. I continue to like it also, both to own for the dividends and the Covered Calls and to sell Puts trying to catch a dip.
